// I'm smart //
i was about to doze off in the bus just now but i was rudely awaken by the sounds of loud and obnoxious-stomping footsteps. i looked up and hey!! my juniors!!
me being me, got so excited upon seeing the faces of those i miss, well sorta..
thus the conversation started..
zuli: hey!!!!!! hi!!!! oooooh, so you guys are in National jc..
them: ya.. you?
zuli: im in ngee ann poly. so how's jc?
boy1: it's ok, quite boring though.
boy2: yea...
zuli: why?
boy1: the teachers like teach in a superbly boring manner and even during the first few days of school, people started studying already. the pretence of being diligent is overwhelming in nj.
zuli: ouh, you should go to a poly if you find jc boring.
boy1: lets wait for the results, if i do shitly bad maybe i'll consider entering a poly.
i knows these kids real well. getting an L1R5 of 10 is considered shitly bad. they are aiming for a perfect score, you know, an L1R5 of 6.
Xinmin produces kids who are shitly smart.
zuli: what makes you say that?
boy1: oh you know.... everyone in a jc is so competitive, a good L1R5 will somehow boost your morale so that you'll be motivated to do extra well.
zuli: hmmm...ok...
i did my whatever face. urgh typical smart-ass-jc-kid, didnt bother to fight back.
zuli: ouh you know what, you should come to ngee ann's open house if you're interested:)
boy2: yea.. its starts tomorrow up till saturday right?
zuli: YUP! you should go.
so boy2 asked boy1 if he wanted to go too..
boy2 shrugged and said: why should i go? the school sends tonnes of booklets. i can just read it and get information from there. there's no need for an open house.
zuli gasped out loud :0
oh my, boy1 is such a nerd! reading alone does not provide you with the holistic experience that is required to know more about a certain issue. you can never ever know how a poly is like unless you're in it. don't assume that poly is a laid-back institution and students can just do things at a slow pace.
boy, you SO do not know what kinda shit projects, shit assignments and shit exams we have to face.
every education institute has their fair share of shit work the students have to face. its a matter how well you can handle the stress. don't ever think that there's lesser stress in poly than there is in jc. i personally feel that the level of stress is similar.
you jc peeps have PW. we poly students have projects every other day.
you jc peeps have tonnes of assignments. omG~~! we have that too!
you jc peeps have promos and a-levels. hah! as if our exams aint important like yours.
you graduate with an A-level cert which can hardly bring you anywhere. therefore, it is utmostly essential that you end up in a university. if you can get there that is..
we graduate with a diploma. a paper which permits us to work and earn money. AND we can still enter university.. see you there:)
come on, face the ugly fact. all fresh-graduates either diploma or degree holders, our starting salary is harldy different. ok fine, you may earn a hundred or two more than us but think, who has more experience and who is more likely to get that promotion?
you jc people, please don't try to act smart and put down people like us with your political, 'im-so-smart' talk.
ouh whatever, enough with the poly-jc thing. this issue has been debated on for years, it has become a chronic problem.
maybe im biased. im a poly student.
but i still love my jc friends. i just detest the idea of a jc education. damn, their learning crap
