back in primary school, friends called me Zul for short. my bestfriends call me that as well. but others prefer to call me Zuli. call me yana if you want. my family calls me yana but it's kinda weird calling me that right. sounds so urm...common.
i only have one name that is short&simple. unlike some people, my parents didnt give me a fanciful name which sounds like some sorta magic mantra that can make you fly (eg Sri Elfyia Anastasia Suhailiz Bte Omar). if you cant remember my name, it just shows that you're dumb.
maybe you're wondering.. how on earth/why on earth did my parents chose Zulianah? actually, neither mak nor ambok named me. *my cousin who was 4-yrs-old back then named me! well sorta.

17+ years ago, my cousin had a crush on one of his pre-school classmate and the girl's name happened to be julianah. i guess mak&ambok were lepak-ing at my aunt's place and were discussing on what name to give me. my cousin who was probably there contributed as well. he told mak&ambok to name me julianah. since both mak&ambok's name start with the letter 'Z' they decreed to change the 'J' to a 'Z'. thus, Zulianah became the name. and there on, all the subsequent children were given names starting with the letter 'Z'.

i once asked mak if there is a meaning to my name. she told me that it's waterfall. mak said,"that's why you're so gila and noisy"
two years ago(2005), i browsed through my *ex-husband's(darren ahaha) dictionary and found the meaning of my name-Zuli. definition- Zuli: a kind of common greenish stone that is not valuable. wah-lao eh, my heart shattered into a gazillion pieces upon reading it.
anyway, still loving my name and you should love yours.

my last sister's name was supposed to be Zahidah, meaning the pious child. BUT!! ambok made a mistake when applying for the birth cert thingy. he accidentally named her Zahirah, meaning the pretty one. ambok said, "alamak wrong name arh? Zahirah pun Zahirah la..." ahahaha, mak was really really pissed with him.

*4yr old cousin who is now 22yrs old:) i used to hate my cousin(abg farid) alot coz he loved bullying us, the younger cousins. once, all the cousins were playing king and queen. he was the eldest so he appointed himself as king. guess who i became? no...not the queen~~ duh. i wasnt even the dayang-dayang(maid). i had to be his throne la. shit him, i had to sit cross-legged with my arms straight and wrists on knees. AND he really sat on me. shit him la.
13yrs later(2007)... standing at 1.57m, abg is a lieutanant at pulau tekong. wahh, not bad r ..(mary you want?? looks like a chinese yet there is still the malayness in him.he's so cute you know). guy friends, be prepared to meet him once you enter NS. he shows appreciation not by words but action. if he likes you, he'll start hitting you, call you fat and try to break your arm. gosh, he's still bullying me la. he's a nice cousin AND he's single... any takers??
*ex-husband darren currently a J2 student studying in HCJC. smart you know, for 2 years in a row he was like the top student or something (mary you want? you want smart guys rite..but this one is a fair chinese you know).
when i was in sec3(2004) i went on my knees and proposed to him. i said,"ni yen yi chi wo ma?" pardon the spelling. and he replied, "ya sure" without hesitation.i immediately became his wifey. a week later, he proposed to my two bestfriends. a month later he married atikah on stage. like for real.. with the kompangs, the costumes, the sandingan blablabla. well, it was a play but still... heart pain you know. he neglected his first wife. so i filed for a divorce. but up till now, he still regrads me as his wifey. ahaha

never be ashamed of your name even if your parents named you Gay'lloyd or Joyah or Chua Kun Yang. they were probably drunk, high or supremely blur like my ambok when applying for the birth cert thingy- so if wasnt fully their fault.
